Governor Is Pressed on Schiavo as Legal Moves Dwindle
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/27/national/27schiavo.html

PINELLAS PARK, Fla., March 26 - Faced with the prospect of dwindling legal avenues, the parents of Terri Schiavo and others fighting to keep her alive appealed to Gov. Jeb Bush on Saturday to intervene further in the case.

The appeal came after the judge who had ordered the removal of the feeding tube that has kept Ms. Schiavo alive for 15 years ruled once again on Saturday against a motion from Robert and Mary Schindler, the parents of the severely brain-damaged woman, seeking to have the tube reinserted.

Late Saturday, lawyers for the Schindlers filed an appeal of the decision by the judge, George Greer of the Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court, with the Florida Supreme Court, but the court rejected it. The family said that it would not pursue the case again in federal courts.

At the same time, the lawyers said, the family will continue pressing political leaders, including Governor Bush and his brother, President Bush, for further help.

<snip>

Further on in the article, Randall Terry said that Jeb had stopped taking their calls.

1. The noose tightens on Jeb's neck
and like a true Bush, he runs and hides like a coward.

3. I predict that the Bush brothers will not get involved again.
Polls indicate that about 70% of those polled disapproved of the pres and congress intervening. Even evangelicals disapproved. It will not be politically wise for them to get involved.

4. Go, go, go Jebbie, go...
Jebbie B. Goode...

If the residents can't die in peace either way, at least show everyone how crazy your family is.

11. Never forget they are dirty filthy manipulators...

Somehow I doubt that they are sweating too much - there's some silver lining in this for them, there always is. When Shiavo dies, they'll be rioting and lots of messy shit by the Randal freaks - this isn't going away. The majority thinking concerned citisens just may break free and hit the streets in self defense. There's a breaking point for everyone. Then the NG is called. then who knows what the fuck.

the BFEE doesn't need a fake outside attack on america to declare martial law, all they have to do is continue their programs of insanity until we just get so fucking fed up and fight back the only way there is available.

9. Seems that Jebby has got himself into a pretty pickle....
Support the fundies who feel that the Shiavo issue is a battle between good and evil, with many adopting a Machiavellian mindset, then become the last hope in the battle, and fail to act.

Could it be he was just grandstanding for political clout and never contemplated being a savior. Say it isn't so Jebby, the majority of conservatives oppose your meddling, and the few that do are going to be pretty upset that you failed to save poor Terri. A pickle indeed.

10. God damned Bushco used poor Terri Schiavo and her family and
now that it's proven to be a mistake, are running like the scurvy carrying rats that they are. One of the good things to come out of this sad affair is that it just might end Jebby's political hopes for President for 2008. Let's hope so.

15. Delay is blaming the fuss on the democrats
He's saying the democrats are using political slurs to get their way?
The U.S. Senate democrats, shamefully, went along with this charade.

16. This looks like something
copied and pasted from the Freeper forums, circa November 2000:

"No means no people! My God. Go home and move on with your life!"
