after terri s. passes away
what is going to happen?

will the schindler's sue michael?

will michael be safe?

will his lawyer be safe?

it won't be over, of that i'm sure, but i wonder if it will get uglier. will there be protection for everyone?

1. Well you know what? I just don't care, I'm so sick of these people
Another event in America that becomes an issue that is full of political junk and no real substance. Living here has become the equivalent of living in a bad marriage.

4. That's the trouble. No one can agree who is doing the right thing.
If I were the husband, I'd take my girlfriend and kids and move to Europe.

9. but michael's wishes (terri's wishes) are being carried out
so the other side thinks he is the 'bad guy.'

i wonder if the schindler's got their wishes, would they need protection from their opponents? probably not. we are much more level headed.

i certainly don't have the answers. i'm just batting ideas around. it's like a puzzle.

19. All I know is that the courts ruled and that Democracy was delivered
Nothing could be more clear than that the neoconservative Republicans have one view of Democracy and frankly, to review Congressional action, the Dem's appear to agree with it.

8. A slight clarification ...
... although a big "thank you" for expressing how I've been feeling for the past three years:

Living here has become the equivalent of living in an abusive marriage.

10. did you see that article that michael moore sent out
that compared bush to an abuser? it was on his website for a while. here it is:

http://michaelmoore.com/words/message/index.php?messageDate=2004-12-13

i had recently gotten an abuser out of my life, and the description in this letter was to a T. made me see that our country is run by a guy just like the one that i was dealing with! it was a scary revelation.

16. having gotten out of an abusive relationship I can admit...
It's very very hard to get away because the Abuser tells you it's always your fault for being the victim.

Bush is an abuser as are the MSM and far far too many big corporations.

20. i know...
you eventually come away thinking YOU are the one who's done something wrong. that's what we're made to feel like with this government. 'you're crazy for thinking such things!' but they are the blind ones.

my favorite line in that article was about how the abuser hits hard when questioned. that was my experience. i called him on his double standards, and he cut loose verbally. what a tongue lashing! thank god it was not physical.

31. Yeah, anything physical from this administration tends to be deadly.
Look at how they've attacked EVERYONE who's raised a question, gone against them or anything.

Strength is not in your muscles, it is your mind, your will and your soul. Strength can be found in the house you build and the people you teach by your deeds, not the graves and hospital beds you fill.

Compassionate Conservative is neither. This administration abuses and attacks like an abuser, they need counceling and to be stood up to like a bully.

You don't just balk at abuse, you either get help and stop it or you leave and go to a shelter... at this point with the government's abuse I'm toeing toward the flee to shelter side, verbal abuse rarely stays there, and, as they stated today through the Dick Cheney - They want to keep confessions obtained through torture. How long is it until they torture EVERY American that stands against them instead of just attacking them through the MSM.

7. Teri's Law?
Florida and maybe other states will try to pass some kind of Teri's Law to promote the "culture of life". I don't think the Randall Terry people are going to stop now. They have gotten too much publicity with this and are on a roll.

I heard Teri's brother wants to charge Schiavo with murder. At the very least, maybe a wrongful death civil suit? The right to life groups are backing them and would like nothing better than to set a precedent. Crazy, but that will make the nuts come out of the woodwork. Michael should move someplace far, far away from Florida.

Judge Greer is going to need protection, but I don't Schiavo's lawyer will - too many bigger fish in the sea.

35. Then we'll see who the Republican's real constituants are
Believe me, there will be no Terri's Law. Why not? Because it is the last thing that the insurance companies will want. They will be forced to pay for life prolonging care, and they will be open to lawsuits if they don't allow for the care to be administered. If it is between the Fundies and the insurance companies, the insurance companies will win out every time.

23. The Christian Right will demand Republicans overturn Roe v Wade.
They got Congress to meet and pass "Terri's Law" on Palm Sunday and Bush flew home to sign it. They are invigorated and the Republicans are puppets on their strings. Randall Terry has become a national figure again and will demand action.

30. well, because i'm deeply cynical about these jesus freaks...
i fully expect that after the 3rd day there'll be terri sightings just like elvis, her likeness will be found on grilled cheese sandwiches and potato chips, and black velvet paintings of terri intertwined with christian iconography will come en vogue.

i suspect there'll be a mini-shrine erected in front of the hospice with regular visits, more chain-letter spam abusing this poor woman's memory, and "sermons" throughout the nation will update their lent season with the story of terri. people who speak in tongues will claim to channel her (as i'm sure they are doing now...) and prayer circles will try to contact her spirit in heaven (in my day we called such things seances, but that was "heathen" :eyes:).

throw in whatever crazy jesus freak subculture crap you want, it'll probably happen. makes good and sane christians look bad. oh well, i'm not christian (any more) so it ain't my reputation i'm worried about -- perhaps some vocal distancing from these crass theatrics might be in order from concerned christian left leaders. if they can't get media time, hell do something... make annoying chain-letters fer jeebus sake.

It all ready has and she's not even dead yet. The families are arguing over her body and what will happen to it.

This is just so sad.
