Where were the fundies when Bush's law murdered Sun Hudson?

Why won't the echo chamber repeat that? More proof that the fight is not even idealogical, but purely political.

Reading between the lines, it looked as though he'd reached the end of his life on the ventilator and would have likely died on it within another week or two. Once taken off, the baby was described as taking two breaths and that was the end, no fighting, no drama. It really was his time to go, he was too seriously deformed to live, even with the maximum intervention we have available.

The problem with Bush's law is that it's restricted to poor folks and folks who have run their insurance out. What it did was bypass a lengthy and expensive court battle over discontinuing life support in truly hopeless cases when the families cling to false hope. The decision isn't made lightly or on a whim, and an ethics panel which includes clergy is part of it. It's just a shame it isn't available to old people being tortured in ICUs for an extra few weeks when they could have been let go in relative comfort.
