Last week proved that America is keeping an eye on the theocrats.
The telling part of the entire Schiavo story IMHO is that the loudest voice above all the Larry Klaymans, Randall Terrys, and Tom DeLays was the American People. They said in the polls, in no uncertain terms, that they want politics out of their personal lives. A great blow to the theocrats who dream of a picture of Jesus next to you on your drivers license. America knows the difference between a tragic human experience and a political cheap shot.

1. We'll see
The American people can also be lethargic, fickle, misinformed and gullible.

2. I'm not holding my breath, I'm not sure I would have bet on this outcome.
82% think Congress & President should stay out of this is encouraging to me.

3. On The Other Hand....
....it also proved that Americans are also easily distracted from more important things--the judicial nominations, the wars, oil, the Haliburton rip-offs, the environment, just to name a few--by something that is essentially none of their business, but that gets sensationalized in the media.

4. I think it actually separated the Lunatics from the "misled"
Let's hope the "misled" continue the movement away from the lunatics on their own!
