FBI Admits to Mishap on Classified Files

Ahmed Fathy Mehalba, who was released from jail earlier this month, contacted the FBI's Boston office Tuesday after he realized agents had inadvertently given him the compact disc containing the secret files along with his personal property.

Mehalba had the disc in his possession for only a "matter of hours" before the FBI retrieved it, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Ricciuti.

"Someone in the bureau obviously made a serious mistake," Ricciuti said.

Mehalba's lawyer, Michael Andrews, said the FBI's mistake was "very upsetting" to his client.:D:D:D:D:D

The FBI's Boston bureau disclosed its error in a press release Saturday.

You know thats what they were hoping for.

My niece was applying for a position with the CIA and blew it off after seeing how much of a circle jerk it was. It seems that the major failure is allowing institutions to develop a self-serving bureaucracy that has no oversight. Whether it's the FBI,CIA,NSA, or federal government, if people are allowed to keep their jobs without maintaining some minimum level of performance. I wish we had the time,energy, and access to information that would make it possible to keep up with the problems.
