Did anyone hear Dr. Dean Edell today?
He gave a very good explanation of why the government should stay out of the Terry Schiavo decision.

1. Hey...
I haven't heard Dean Edell in years. He used to have a streaming archive of his shows a few years back when he was sponsored by drugstore.com (I think). Do you have an online source for his show, even if it's a radio station that streams his show?

I miss his show. A voice of rationality for many years now.

Did you ever read his book Eat, Drink and Be Merry?

7. Thanks...
No radio reception where I live. :-(

That's why I was hoping someone would know of a streaming source. Oh well.

2. He's local around here
He was on the local news this week explaining what Terri Schiavo's real medical condition and prognosis is.

3. I used to listen to his show all the time- before the local right-wing
hate station pulled it and replaced it with some blathering Bush sycophant.

11. Yes
It used to be refreshing to hear him among the right wing crazies. My local Clear Channel station is now all right wing propaganda all of the time, including Limbaugh and Hannity being replayed on weekends.

I miss his show.

B-)

5. I don't think he has much use
for the brand of religion in control of the U.S. government.

The few times I have listened to him have left me thinking he is the "male Dr. Ruth" so I am surprised he would even change the topic long enought to address the Schiavo issue.

10. He Is the Voice of REASON on This and Much Else
for years he has railed about the insanity of the drug laws and circumcision. On Saturday's re-run (from last week?) he summarized Terri SCHIAVO's condition and spelled out how the quack-yakkers on cable and in the Congress are TOTALLY ignorant on this, practicing medicine without a license or even with it but wrongly.

12. Edell is RW, basically greed is his motive in life
Edited on Sun Mar-27-05 04:24 PM by oscar111
Odd case of someone who started out in life seeming to be LW

admittedly, i did not hear it first hand, .. what i heard was he grilled Hillary , working against her plan for free healthcare.

Firsthand, i hear from edell himself, he wastes money on collecting Chinese art. That is not the pastime of a LW person. A LW person lives simply, and donates what he can, to the homeless. He does not squander money on collecting fine art while 9 000 000 starve worldwide.

He is, i admit, LW on some issues like pot, but the bottom line in life is what stand one takes on helping the billions who are poor. There, he is RW.

I have seen several confused folks in the media.. like bob dylan.{at times a hippy, a fundy, and now living in a huge mansion}... but the bottom line is as i said, their economics.
And .. do they support democrats?

Edell is in general good at memory, poor at logic. Even in medicine, i spotted some logic errors.

I like his stand against alcohol, and quote it. But he fails overall, with his RW economic views.

Somewhat like nader i guess. A mix, but overall, a failure.
