I mean REALLY. This is the guy's first love, and she's dying. These fuckwits really should have been arrested for trespass the second they set foot on his property.

31. Oh me too!
I let a little (okay big) bark of laughter at this wacko. This has become such a freak show. I'm sure THAT's been said many times. But... it's just so... unseemly. I'm embarrassed for everyone involved.

3. I just caught Brandy's piece on Fox.
Hysterical, she kept railing against "activist judges" because they refused to get involved. Did anyone else see this? Unbelievable. She is in this for herself, she loves the attention. What a freak.

40. Exactly!
The judicial system just can't win with these people. They claim they want judges who follow the law, and not make the law. Well, fine, that's what the judges who've been dealing with this case from the beginning have done, FOLLOWED THE LAW. I'm sure some of them may have been uncomfortable doing so, but they knew they had no choice. What they REALLY mean when they're ranting about "activist judges" is that they want judges who will rule the way THEY want them to, regardless of the actual law. They don't give a shit about the law, they just want their own views and doctrine imposed on everyone else. And that is truly frightening, that the people currently in charge in this country are those who believe they have the right to use the judicial system the way THEY want to, regardless of the law.

And these people don't give a shit about Terri, either. They're just using her to further their own agenda.

4. He should get a restraining order against all these whackos
Do they honestly believe this man is enjoying this situation? Were it up to him, he would have been able to allow Terri to die with dignity and for him to grieve in private years ago.

And I know it's very contentious, but the man does have small children. Leave the family alone.

9. And what if their prayers aren't answered?
Edited on Sun Mar-27-05 04:55 PM by GOPFighter
"A group of protestors pray as they await their turn to lay a flower on the sidewalk..."

Will they accept God's will peacefully or will they blame the courts and liberals for Terri's death? Will any of them ever think to question why God didn't answer their prayers? If God exists why wouldn't he answer their prayers? If God suddenly intervened and Terri awoke miraculously healed, wouldn't this be a nearly irrefutable proof of God's existence?

Think, people, think!

35. that last link... they are blaming Jeb!
CONTINUED PRAYER FOR TERRI SCHIAVO

Please continue to pray for Terri Schiavo. Although Florida law permits Terri to be taken into protective custody by its Department of Children and Families without a court order, the governor seems reluctant to do so. His willingness to follow the provisions of the law, despite a court order from an activist judge, may represent Terri's only hope for survival.

... Look at that - Florida law (according to them) allows Jeb! to take Terri into protective custody... but he won't do it (so far...)... So sayeth these folks. So when he doesn't step in - what do they do? Try to force some big concession out of him on another rtl front? Turn on him (I doubt it... not in the long run)... But it is interesting. Many have already spun Jeb! into innocent (it is the big bad judiciary...)... but these folks aren't doing that. Hmmmm.

Wonder if they even "get" the fact that both Jeb! and W are slashing Medicaid funds- the funds to get Terri and others access to health care in the first place... These guys act against folks whose conditions might deteriorate into a Schaivo situation without medical attn ... how is facilitating physical demise acting in accordance to a "culture of life?" Craziness...

Brain injury therapy being underfunded

March 18, 2005

According to doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., 60 percent of the wounded soldiers coming back from Iraq have traumatic brain injuries.

Unfortunately, the Bush administration has recently completely zeroed out funding for the Federal TBI Act, which provides exactly this kind of help.
