Glimmer of Hope!

I just had a conversation with a friend of mine. We were discussing how if the filibuster is eliminated, and B*sh's neo-con, right wing nut job judges are appointed, and then Roe v. Wade being overturned. As most of you I'm sure know the Roe v. Wade decision was about medical privacy not abortion.

My friend said that the country would not stand for it and that would be the repukes downfall, because medical privacy effects everyone in a personal way. That why the overwhelming majority of American's supported Michael Sciavo. Unlike say the Patriot Act, where the red-staters say why should I care if the government wants to look at my computer, library records, or anything else they want to catch terrorists, I don't care, I have nothing to hide, I'm not a terrorist.

I hope my friend is right!

Judging from what has happened to this contry in the last four years I think that Roe V. Wade may not be enough.

You are right that they are way to content right now! Gas is still relatively cheap (compared to the rest of the planet), the malls are open & have tons of mindless crap available & there is probably at least 1-2 reality shows on TV every night.

Right now the bulk of people don't know what it means to have abortion illegal.

not only that.. does it mean vasectomies can be made ilegal too? what baout tubal <whatever>. it would turn the abortioin voters from people that vote because abortion is legal, to vote because abortion is illegal.

It's been the biggest and best fundraising and political wedge tool they've had since civil rights. There is no way that the money boys who run the party would let it get overturned, even to placate the fundies.
