1. Three weeks. Minimum.
That's how long the interregnum would be. Back in 1978, we had two of these only 33 days apart. (John-Paul I only lived for 33 days as Pope.)

4. Gonna watch "Weekend at Bernie's" tonight
Maybe stream it to the Vatican. If they can get him up & dancin' maybe we can get a reprieve. After the all Terri all the time BS I was hoping for some real news for a change.

5. The cable channels are going to run out of guest commentators

Last night, Larry King was reduced to talking with the star of The Passion Of The Christ! Who's next, the actor who played the priest on The Sopranos? Oh, well, there are always the Vatican cleaning ladies. Gasp--what if he lasts as long as Terri?

7. I would have preferred that guy that starred in Jesus Chris Superstar.
At least he had a great rock scream.

10. LOL, no. The original guy from broadway.
SB did do a tour of the play (which I actually saw and it was okay except he was a bit weak).

13. Well if they keep up with mostly right wing ones, then yes
This morning between MSNBC and Faux there were no liberal Catholic voices on there. National Catholic Register priest, Franklin Graham, Pat Buchannan, and others.

Nobody representing the National Catholic Reporter-style side of the church.

6. If it is like the 70s, it will be a week of constant funeral coverage too
Then another week of the 'coronation' of the new pope. A distraction the * admin didn't have to work for. Keep an eye out these two weeks for what they do while the camera's away.

11. A three-week 24/7 infomercial for Christian values

At a time when leadership of the GOP are trying to turn them into the law of the land. No wonder the Pope is drawing it out for as long as he can.

17. I agree.
All sorts of nifty stories like this one are flooding the "news" airwaves:

And of course, we will have weeks of the pope's funeral coverage all followed by weeks of seeing Randall Terry and other fundie whackos.
