An important site
On why our world cannot find peace.Click around this site, there is a lot to see here.

http://ttfuture.org/services/bonding/main.htm

The greatest terror a child can have is that he is not loved, and rejection is the hell he fears. I think everyone in the world to a large or small extent has felt rejection. And with rejection comes anger, and with anger some kind of crime in revenge for the rejection, and with the crime guilt--and there is the story of mankind.

1. I've known a lot of criminals
and I've been in a position to pick their brains, always with their permission.

What I found wasn't a rejected child or an adolescent who never thought he'd be good enough.

What I found was a colossal ego, someone who felt he was much smarter than everybody around him (usually with little cause) and entitled to take what he felt was his due as a superior person without having to stoop to being a square and working for it.

Too much self esteem was the problem, not too little.

Yes, some of these guys lead the damaged human beings out there into helping them. However, they possess little consicience, no empathy, and little capacity for guilt.

Eventually, the notion that crime really doesn't pay, that getting caught and stuck in jail takes all the fun out of it will get through to some of them.

3. But isn't that big ego and narcissim a coverup for a lack of self esteem?
Isn't a parent who "spoils" a child sometimes one who gives into the demands because they really do not want to spend the "quality" time with the child, and therefore creates a monster who thinks he can get away with anything. In actuality, he does not feel loved, only powerful, and cruel.

5. That's the pop psychology fiction
but I certainly never found it to be so.

They really did feel themselves to be utterly superior to the "squares" of the world.

6. No. A "big" ego is actully a very poor functioning ego.
An ego is meant to be the balancing arm of the psyche. A person with a "big" ego is subject to thought distortion as much as a person with a so called "little" ego. Their actions, however, differ. As expected, those with a big opinion of themselves tend to demand attention or whatever they want, abuse others and lack humility. Those who think too little of themselves, tend ot underate their capabilities and abuse themselves. Either may abuse those who they perceive as vulnerable. Self esteem is derived from achievements or accomplishments.

as well as most of the RW Repuke leadership and the Fundies. Very scary.
Maybe the differentiation between Democrats and Repukes begins that early in life.

7. I practice "attachment parenting"
which shares much philosophy with this author:

1. Society must support mothers being nurturing mothers that includes breastfeeding for 2.5 years or greater.

2. Society must support mothers (and fathers) in being nurturing parents by supporting the continuous carrying of the infant on the body of mother/father throughout the day during the first year of life.

3. All forms of intentional infliction of physical/emotional pain and punishment must be eliminated from the life of the infant/child that begins in many infants with circumcision.

4. Society must support the emerging sexuality of children and youth and support them in the natural expression of their inherent sexuality that is free from exploitation and punishment.
