1. Actually, I'm thinking more about Gibson's father...

...who, while taking a break from denying the Holocaust, was known to refer to JPII as "Garrolus Karolus, the Koran Kisser."

Considering that JPII's papacy could realistically be seen as the answer to conservative Roman Catholic prayers (not to knock the late Pope's sincerity, but virtually his entire tenure was a retreat from Vatican II), how extreme do you have to be to view him as "too liberal?"
