co-hosting with Lisa DANIELS, to be called "DIETL and DANIELS". According to him (on the Don ANUS circus), Rick KAPLAN ------went to him and offered him a show. As if his embarrassment as a human being displayed is not enough, and exposed on a Daily Show segment. They've tried Michael WEINER-"Savage" before. It appears that they wanted to go in the WEINER direction, only ashcanned him for screwing up on the air, NOT because he was an idiot and a Nazi. So now this.
They might as well put the GOTTI brats on the air with a talk show.

The content and ownership of those channels are different than the ones that come over the air to your radio and television.

What I think you're refering is to the re-institution of some of the "deregulation" of the Raygun era (anti-trafficking rules), but the large chunk comes from the '96 Telcom Bill passed under, and blessed, by Clinton...that allowed corporations like Clear Channel and others buy up thousands of local stations and give outlets to most of the hate radio stations that pollute the body politic.

The cable game is to piss you off and make you watch...mad, angry people mean ratings and revenues...and the right wing knows and has used it to great effect.

I have struggled to be a fan of MSNBC since its beginnings. I remember the promise the network had in the pre-9/11 days--the daytime line-up of the three-females with a sharp, smart edge. But things went oddly awry with the hiring of blowhards SCARBOROUGH and Michael SAVAGE and the firing of your highest rated DONAHUE.

Ever willing to be hopeful, I chose to interpret the firing of SAVAGE as a return to rationality. Now that small hope is dashed with the news that Bo DIETL will be added to your line-up. He said that Rick KAPLAN himself WENT TO HIM and OFFERRED him a show. Apparently the thinking is that the obnoxiousness of Don IMUS is what sells.

What it shows is that your network didn't really see anything wrong with SAVAGE. You only fired him because of his on-air fracas, not because of his overall direction.

So the formula is: Pair an ignorant loudmouth with a Harvard Law graduate because their surnames both start with the same letter, eh? That's the ticket.

I hesitate to add a positive comment because it might result in the opposite effect: You will probably fire him. But Keith OLBERMANN demonstrates the potential your network could achieve if only reason prevailed.

I remember watching him during the DC sniper shooting coverage 2 years ago- Dietl shouted over and over again that the person responsible for these murders was most definitely a kid who
is infatuated with violent video games. He blamed the entire thing on video games. I thought it was hilarious at the time. I didn't see too many interview with Dietl after the sniper was caught.
