Makeshift Hindu temple razed, three worshipers deported from Saudi
March 28, 2005

RIYADH -- Saudi religious police have destroyed a clandestine makeshift Hindu temple in an old district of Riyadh and deported three worshipers found there, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, or religious police, on Thursday stumbled across a room converted into a temple while raiding a number of flats suspected of being used to manufacture alcohol and distribute pornographic videos, pan-Arab Al-Hayat said.

"They were surprised to find that one room had been converted into a Hindu temple," it said.

A caretaker who was found in the worshiping area ignored the religious police orders to stop performing his religious rituals, the paper added.

Take a close look at this one, folks. This is the model for the future government the Dominionists are attempting to push through the current Republican controlled government!

1. That democracy is just sweeping across the Middle East !
Are brutal religious police part of those democratic reforms Condoleeza Rice was talking about?

2. I think that's a part of the plan
Once they get the Religion Cops in place here, we'll be exporting the technology worldwide.

5. The religious police have no offical standing
They're vigilantes, basically, which is why people there are starting to get heartily sick of them. They're the ones who forced young girls back into a burning school because they hadn't stopped to put on their chadors when they fled the fire.

Like all vigilantes, they're scum. Since they're religious, they've been allowed to exist. My guess is that there will be a crackdown soon.

6. Sorta like the Brownshirts in Nazi Germany
They were so unofficial that they were done away with in favor of the official blackshirts (c.f. Night of the Long Knives).

7. There MIGHT be a crackdown on the vigilantes
If they were doing something that the government didn't approve of -- unofficially, of course. As we all know, our great and good friends the Saudis are just aching to convert their kingdom to a fully functioning democracy with full and equal rights for everyone, native, immigrant, Sunni, Shiite, man, woman.

And when I suspect that's about to happen, I'll stand up so that the monkeys flying out of my butt don't bonk their heads on the chair.

4. No deportation here
Yeah, but if they do it here, they won't be deporting those of us who won't conform - they'll be executing us 'cause we're American citizens.
