a government of, by, and for the people, but...

If the DP wants to appeal to a declining middle class, it must embrace financial accountability, and refrain from knee-jerk reactions to streamline and even reduce some programs that provide for people. Sometimes cutting a program results in a greater net benefit.

Of course the Heritage foundation did not mention the 'waste' of spending as much on the military as the next 10-20 nations combined, considering most of those nations have a long history of friendliness to the US, are not in a position to invade the US, and would be hurt by any attack on the US. I think it's up to $560B a year now: the next two countries, China and France, together spend about $120B.
