How can the Church be anti-homosexual...
when so much of what's great about the Vatican is the result of great homosexuals? Michelangelo, da Vinci...the list goes on!

9. Since you never learned about it in your white-washed history
courses.

And so was Walt Whitman, Langston Hughes, and a good portion of the artists and writers throughout history.

27. I did know that Whitman was gay--but Hughes?
They didn't teach us that in the Harlem Renaissance lecture! :P

28. No...not the Harlem Renaissance! Anything but that!
I love the music, but the way grade after grade of school just continually bastardized it was too much!

If they insist on being so virulently anti-gay, then on principle I think they should sell all of the incredible Vatican treasures created by homosexual artists and distribute the money to the poor.

14. They can get Thomas Kincade to repaint the Sistine Chapel, too
Seriously, I wonder what the Vatican treasury would look like if all the incredible art, murals and sculpture created by gay artists were removed.

25. Oh, my heart's a quiver, Thomas Kincade...he's the best since
that great guy from the 60's, Keane (sic?) who painted the hippie chicks with big eyes.

Clear out all that so-called art in the Vatican and go wall to wall with Kincades and Keane's:

This Kincade is called "DEATH."

Wow, get the imagery, you "cross over" to "the other side" and it B nice over there. Your very own for $10,000. Priceless.

This is Keane, sheeple with big eyes.

Hey, wait a minute, that's some guy from oasis!
Looks like a Keane.

I think we've got a movement here. Straight art, none of that ambidextrous stuff.

And here's a piece painted by the last national leader to seriously attempt to censor art. A. Hitler

Lots of verrrrrrrrrrry interesting stuff in The Bible. When I was a kid I used to skip to all the 'good parts'.

Don't read it much, anymore. At All.

19. It's just too much gayness for them to handle
Why don't them damn people just stfu. The love that dares not speak it's name has become the love that won't shut up. Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

I know I'm missing a couple of gems of fundie rhetoric. Help me out.

22. We who support GLBT rights are not the ones who have made their...
...sexual orientation an issue. But, because it has been made an issue by others, it's appropriate to call their attention to the many contributions of lesbians and gays throughout history.

29. Actually, our lives are so hidden and our history is so
thoroughly blacked out that the unearthing of queer history is a real emotional event for many GLBT people. What is closeted is eventually thrown out of the closet for good when we die by relatives who burn our photo albums and histories and 'for decency's sake.'

It takes a lot of make sure our legacies don't die with us.
