I hate it when Bill Moyers comes on TV.
He's so good, and so eloquent, that I have to sit down and watch him. And I get nothing accomplished. He was on UCTV on Dishnet.

3. I know. Thank god I've got my Friday nights back!
Moyers on NOW was totally unique. He had great guests. He told the truth. His interview skills, from Judy Collins on personal challenges to theology to Samantha Powers on genocide to economics to secrecy to poetry -- unmatched.

4. He is a pain in the arse. Always informative without talking down
to his audience. Gee whiz, does the guy have to be so logical AND civil?

I miss him on NOW.

6. Yeah, I hate how he makes me think n stuff
But after a little CNN or FOX, I feel better and can focus on the important stuff.

Like American Idol.

7. Moyers is a vestige of another era
I watched this program last night on the Pope in which they played in their entirety news broadcasts from the late '70s of when the Pope was first chosen.

I'm not saying that was some golden age of journalism, but I was struck just by the literate and (compared to today) in-depth reporting in these segments. The reporters (when they were shown at all) didn't look like mannequins or GQ models, either.

Watching these segments on this program (it was hosted by Jane Pauley) was like finding a filet mignon in a Big Mac box.
