Florida 2000 all over again.

I’m watching Chris Matthews – a panel of 2 Dems and 2 Repubs (Pat Cadell and didn’t catch the other names)

Republican talking points:

Rule of law!

Overturning the will of the people!

The judges that decided this were Democrats appointed by Carter and Clinton!

Using the logic of the USSC in Bush v Gore isn’t fair! :eyes:

Oh, I LOVE watching the pukes squirm and make assholes of themselves when things don’t go their way. LOL!

The only thing missing in the spin tonight as an analogy to Florida recount is that Republican guy with pop-bottle thick glasses reviewing ballots with a magnifying glass with his nose so close to the ballots pretending it was almost impossible to tell the vote when I could see the fucking hole from my living room. LOL!

I just hope the USSC keeps their evil partisan hands off of this one.

6. I really think the momentum was in favor of Davis
I've been watching this pretty closely from Iowa and have been pretty impressed lately and truly felt there was a better than even chance the recall effort would fail and Davis would prevail.

2. I would love to see fat Tony step all over his prior decision

and I really doubt they can count on O'Connor and Kennedy to help them this time. Actually, the 9th circuit set up the PERFECT trap for the felonius five to impeach their own credibility in the matter.

4. I see that now that I've had time to read the other threads on this
but while yours is a legal and a most rational argument, I'm far too cynical for my own good when it comes to Republican politics and our current administration these days.

There was nothing rational about Bush v Gore to begin with or how the CA recall was manipulated and financed by outsiders and even promoted from within by those naive enough to take the bait.

I'll beleive it in a week if the USSC passes on it.

3. Frankly, if it's what I think I heard as I was trying to get
dressed today to GO SEE HOWARD DEAN IN PERSON!!!!!!!!!! (terrific, it was) --

Then I'm hoping the do and let the punchcards go through. As I understand it, momentum was on the side of No and Bustamonte. Get more of those computerized voting systems in there and the momentum might shift (without you even knowing it) somewhere else entirely.

5. I opened my mouth at work, unfortunately...
during break when a co-worker mentioned the delay in the recall so they could get more electronic voting machines since we can't have punchcards AND electronic voting machines (we know which party argues this point). I mentioned that it is legal and coincidently, the makers of the electronic voting machines are huge Republican contributors, and that a democracy can't survive without a paper trail. I might as well have said, 'Soylent green is people!'. Honestly, I felt like a conspiracy nut because after a brief silence the conversation quickly turned to Ben and JLo. Nobody gives a shit. It's not to hard to think maybe you're nuts when you care so much about something you feel is dire, and 99% of the people around you just shrug it off.

7. ha ha, I made the same mistake today
Letting people know I went to the Steak Fry. I got one person who asked for information on Dean but I was practically shunned by most of the others. My good friends wanted the lo-down of course........they "put up with" me being liberal, hoping I'll come to my senses some day.

Funny thing is, for all their criticism, not a one of them can explain anything political other than who is pro-life, which actually has next to zero to do with running the country. BARF

8. I'm jealous...
that you got to lunch with Dean. I got to lunch with libertarians and republicans. Fun. Hey, but they know all there is to know about Ben and JLo, and THAT'S the important thing. I guess a lot of people just don't do politics, and that's too bad, because we're in an awful mess and it would be nice if people woke the hell up.

I did do a good impression of Ahnold that made them laugh, but anything beyond the scope of entertainment gossip or mindless banter, and 'whoosh!'.

9. I can only see more time helping
Bigger voter turnout in March for one. I see momentum moving more in Davis's favor as well.
