HOLY SHIT!! My LOCAL news JUST did a story on Black Box Voting!!
Had a guy on there say that people should be worried that the votes have no paper trail and are mainly run by Republicans, I can't believe my eyes and ears...

Part of a story on the "Donkey's Rock Campaign", to sign up people to vote (I live in a college town)....

1. be sure to commend them for the story!
Tell the reporter this is something you've been following because it's not a partisan problem, it's an American problem. Say "the American people want fair elections and want to know their vote has been counted."

2. You are so lucky. Wish mine would.
Gotta repeat that good advise, send the reporter an email. They need the positive feedback.

3. Post address information...
...if this is on a site of the station's anywhere.

As said, show interest, tell them you want more, point them to some of the BBV activists.

4. how common is touch screen voting?
where I live in Alabama, we use a paper ballot were you have to connect an arrow - -> with a pen to vote. If it is filled out wrong the machine spits it out and they give you a new ballot. I have never seen a touch screen in an election.

just wondering how common they are

5. In the last year it has exploded because of HAVA.
The Feds have promised money if states go to new e-voting technology. You will probably be offered the chance this year to touch your way to a Whistle Blower candidacy. Surprise!

7. Thanks for the info
funny thing is, we don't even have voting booths usually. Just a bunch of chairs to sit in and vote. People talk to each other ect..

9. Mine just did too.
Of course it was connected to the recall election being postponed. (In California here.)
