Jeff Gannon is HORRIBLE

He was awful on C-Span and I PRAY that he goes to jail and they threaten him with Federal Jail Time so he'll blab how he got in and what else he knows.

Agreed...his answers and lying was finally getting to the panel as this thing went on. It looked like several wanted a piece of this POS.

Any idea of who the blogger at the end was? First he was waiving a paper and asking a question of Gunkert, then later was shown yelling about the prostitute angle while storming out the door. I imagine it's someone from a liberal blog and we'll find out more about it later on here.

According to americablog.org, which has been on top of the whole Gannon story, this was Mike Rogers of blogActive.com, and hats off to him for cutting through the bullshit. In the end, this whole thing really revolves around one big question (not that there aren't also other questions to be answered): Where did Jeff get his access? We KNOW he had documents and information that would seem to suggest a high-level contact with the American government. Noone seems interested in pinning down exactly how it came about however. It's time we get this question answered, no matter how long or how hard Jeff tries to stonewall.

I have a few questions of my own...and one that no one on that panel had the huevos to ask...

"Mr. Gunkert...how were you hired for your job? What writings did you submit (printed I would assume) that would demonstrate you were truly a journalist? Hell, even a J-school term paper would do."

I was also hoping there'd be some focus on the "operative" issue. I was glad some brought it up, but then let Gunkert off the hook. Of course this goon was an operative of the RNC and to show the direct ties between this slimeball and Morton Blackwell, the Eberles and other Repugnican dark-siders who control a lot of the media.

jail time is better than pushing daisies.

and my favorite moment was when he said Faux news was not conservative and a roar of laughter filled the room. Priceless.

NEW YORK More than two months after he resigned as the White House correspondent for right-leaning Talon News, James Guckert, also known as Jeff Gannon, was back in the spotlight this morning as part of a panel at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

When the panel ended at 11 a.m. after the alotted 90 minutes, heated questions were still flying from the audience and moderator Rick Dunham of the Press Club told the audience members to seek out panel members afterward.

The panel had closed with Gannon refusing to say, under repeated questioning, how long it had taken him to get his credentials to the White House, which others have had to fight for. Another panelist, Matthew Yglesias of The American Prospect, commented: “I have a hard time believing that you don't have a recollection of how long it took you to get access to the White House."

Gannon replied: “I guess they felt it was my turn.”
