1. If by "justice" you mean the rule of law?
Delay, Kenny Boy, the Bush Boy himself have pretty much put that concept to rest. As far as a more cosmic sense of justice, ie., righteousness triumphing over evil... well, that's looking like a bit of a longshot, too. I hate to think there is a god, but He's just laughing at us,,, pulling the legs off one by one.

Tell you what, if a black hole opens up and swallows Crawford, I'll be back on board with the whole benevolent universe thing.

2. I do.
I think things balance out in the long run, although things seem pretty lousy just now. But I also think the Republicans have over extended themselves and hard times are coming for them. I could be wrong on all counts, though.

4. Well, if you give up hope, then what's the point of keeping on?
I agree with bryant69's comments above in post #2. Things seem shitty right now, but eventually they balance out.

And I don't necessarily define justice as the likes of the Bush cabal getting punished down the line -- I define it as those being hurt worst by their policies eventually finding a light at the end of the tunnel, and the repudiation of all that the current right wing stands for.

5. As a strong believer in evolutionary theory, I believe that
justice and cooperation within a society and compassion, liberal principles all, are hard-wired into us for evolutionary success.

There has never been a 'golden age'. Things are better now than a hundred years ago, and were better then than a hundred years before that. Despite the aberrations of rise of the dictators of the 20th century, they were all eventually defeated and their philosophies reviled.

Though individuals may escape justice, overall, justice prevails.

Hope persists.
