7. Yeah, I was thinking about that quote when I read this new one.
This quote is only slightly less egregious than "fabulous year". That's the Bushism of the century.

6. certainty is the refuge of the weak mind
"No doubt in my mind the Lord Christ was sent by the Almighty," Bush said. "No doubt."

Bush said attending the funeral mass reminded him that faith is a long-term process, using a description of religious life common to evangelicals. "Faith — it's a walk, not a moment, not a respite," he said

16. Christian all my life, and that peculiar phraseology
would never come out of my mouth. Makes no sense at all. Just the fact that you would use the term "Lord Christ" says that you believe he is the Son of God. Unless Bush has had some doubts that he was sent by somebody else? Freaky.

And the "Faith--it's a walk..." That must have come straight out of a Thomas Kinkade greeting card.

Let me say again how much this man disgusts me as a representative of my country. I don't even consider him a representative of Christianity.

then there is no need to proclaim it. you are known by your deeds not your words georgie boy. yes- he doesn`t know the difference between evangelicals and catholics.

35. God, an imaginary friend for adults!
Now before all the Christians on the board get mad at me, I'm making a joke, but I do have a point to make...

Why is is that so many people that are religous; and I separate this from spiritual, because I consider myself spiritual (just not in a Christian way), are so willing to take things on "faith" even when evidence is overwhelmingly contrary to this? They will believe in a God they have never seen, never heard, never detected, but will not believe scientific data or otehr factual information right smack in front of them.

George Bush makes a prime example of that. I suppose we should jsut have faith that someday he will stop being a corporate greed filled schmuck, lying hypocrite, and murderer.

13. And how about this bizarre part...
-snip-

"I think John Paul II will have a clear legacy of peace, compassion and a strong legacy of setting a clear moral tone," Bush told reporters on Air Force One as he flew from Rome to the United States just hours after the funeral. He said he wanted to amend his remarks to add the word "excellent."

"It was a strong legacy," the president said. "I wanted to make sure there was a proper adjective to the legacy he left behind, not just the word clear."

-snip-

WTF? He says something, then a few hours later calls all the reporters back over to revise what he said?

"That there legacy wun't jest cleer. It wuz cleer n' excelunt. Make shur ya put exelunt in there."

14. How can anyone DOUBT this man is spoonfed every word?!
"He said he wanted to amend his remarks to add the word "excellent."

'It was a strong legacy,' the president said. 'I wanted to make sure there was a proper adjective to the legacy he left behind, not just the word clear.' "

He's so clueless and incompetent that when his handlers tell him "you should have said he left an 'excellent' legacy, NOT just 'clear'!" he doesn't even know how to seemlessly drop it into comments. All he can say is "I should have said 'excellent', not just 'clear'."

He sounds like a 10th grader giving a bad book report:
"Umm... the Pope was an important man... er pontiff... because he was for PEACE. He was from Rome, which is an important and strategic country and always has been, since the time of Aristotle. And he had a cool hat... and umm... I mean, and 'excellent' hat. And I think he was a great man because, um, he stood for free... yeah that's it, FREEDOM. "

"Wanted to make sure there was a proper adjective..." What a moron!

and Bush makes it sound like it's some great accomplishment that deserves mention in the list of his achievements as president.

Admittedly, it may be the least destructive highlight/accomplishment of his presidency but since he's our very own King Midas in reverse I imagine that it will blowback on us somehow.
