I have been predicting for a couiple of years that the hard right would launch a more and more organized and coordinated assault on the judiciary. Sadly, that seems to be happening.

Radical Fundamentalist Clerics such as Falwell, Dobson et al are not merely medieval throwbacks or misguided religious hacks. reagan's cabinet member: ed meese, understanding full-well the import; put forth the proposition to harness the remains and then control them by way of judiciary lock some time back. they're still chipping away pissing & moaning about no "up & down vote" whatever, larger percentages dumped out in the clinton admin yada yada yada = they = republicans are not designed to be happy unless & until utter & complete one party, authoritarian neo-con "don't bother asking cause we ain't talk'n; sides, you ain't got'a a dog in this race anyhow" rule has been attained by hook or by crook imo.
