Call up the Judiciary Committee...tell them to oppose this guy again.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to consider the nomination of anti-women Judge Charles Pickering in the coming week. Pickering, who was defeated in Committee on a straight party-line vote in March 2002, was re-nominated by President Bush and is being reconsidered by the now Republican-controlled Committee. There are signs that opposition to Pickering’s nomination to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals is wavering.

anti-women and anti-civil rights. As a state Senator, Pickering supported a constitutional amendment to ban abortion and chaired the subcommittee of the National Republican Party that in 1976 approved a plank calling for an amendment to the US Constitution to make abortion illegal. Pickering has opposed the Equal Rights Amendment and as a district court judge, criticized remedies provided by the Voting Rights Act to redress discrimination against African-American voters.
