Stupid, Ignorant, and PROUD of it: the born again bush lovers creed

i want to believe in the end of the world and darn it, don't try to stop me cause i'm stupid, and ignorant, and proud of it, and i don't want to be educated, enlightened, or informed.

i'd rather go on believing that the rapture will take me up into heaven and cast those i hate into hell. i'd rather not believe in 'theories' like evolution and gravity and world peace. i'd rather look to archaic, dusty tomes than modern scientific evidence.

i want to believe that america is safer and that our god appointed president is responsible for it. i'd rather get a daily dose of brain washing from rush than actually come up with an original idea.
and i'd rather accept the official white house version about 9-11 than trouble my beautiful mind.

i'd rather worship a large 4 ton block of granite even though the bible tells me 'thou shalt not have before thee any graven image'.
and i'd rather murder 100,000 innocent people in revenge for 9-11 than find out why it happened, or who really did it.

in short, i like it here in my little stupid corner of the world, and i don't want to come out. the truth annoys and confuses me, i'd rather not know anything too complicated or thought provoking. i'd rather the whole nation was just like me, willfully stupid, deliberately ignorant, and happy.

stupid, ignorant, arrogant about it, boastfully boorish and brutish, and selfish. how do you deal with millions of people who prefer stupidity and mythology over truth and enlightenment? beats me.

You need to begin a process of dumbening.

The truth is, these people are evil.

Only evil people refuse to learn the truth.

Only evil people would support and cheer on the murder of over 100,000 people who DID NOTHING TO THEM. These people would kill their own neighbors, would murder anyone who doesn't look, dress, talk stupid shit or vote as they do.

Look at the way they drive! If I see a fish emblem or a W'04 sticker, I know that person is going to drive like:

A) "I own the road!"

and

B) " I don't care if I run you and your kid off the road OR that 1500 of our troops died for oil. I'm gonna waste as much of it as I possibly can!"

No, I won't let them get off with just a verdict of "Ignorant Beyond Redemption."

These people are mean, cruel, hate-filled pukes. THAT'S why they don't appear to give a damn about freedom, or democracy or anyone but THEMSELVES.

it's not harmless stupidity. It's ironclad stubborn hatred and fear of other people which leads to ruin. Whether it's the Taliban in the Mideast or Eric Rudolph and Timothy McVeigh in the US, these people are dangerous. They kill. And they believe they're heroes. The more charismatic attract followers who are desperate for authority and structure, even if their leader is a murderous thug.

The words of a holier than thou Wing Nut nurse I used to work with.

She had done mission work and proudly talked about how they had preached to lowly heathens before they gave them medical treatment.

She was also one of the meanest, worst tempered nurses I've ever worked with!

A friend of mine recently went on a tour to the Antarctic. Most of the other passengers on the ship were non-American, and they all hated Bush.

Someone asked him, "How did Bush win the election? I've never met an American who voted for him."

My friend's answer, "I guess the people who vote for Bush never travel."

I have RWer relatives who have traveled to Europe and Mexico and HATED it -- they were expecting some Epcot-version of another country, not any actual real country, where people aren't American, don't take US money, and don't kiss Bush's ass. They hated it.... too many foreigners. I SWEAR to Goddess that's what one of them told me.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that the born again crowd believes in cruelty,violence and dominance over the helpless( like women and children).And quite possibly many of the torturers at Abu Ghraib are drawn from this crowd.

And unfortunately, it's going to end very badly for all of us...

I remember asking a Fundie classmate in college about this. Mu scenario was this: you have a horrible person who's spent 50 years murdering and torturing people, and the second before he dies, he's born again, and he goes to Heaven. Yet, the Pagan/Agnostic/Catholic, etc that lives a great life, 100% morally-upright, helps the hungry and homeless, etc., isn't born again, yet goes to Hell for all eternity. She was like, "Yup." I was like, "You're frigging NUTS." PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY! I've asked that question to many other since 1987,a nd they've all answered the same way....

CRAZY. And, in my opinion, definitely not advocating the words and life of Jesus.

Since God is perfect, anything we can do to save ourselves doesn't even register on his meter. The only thing that can be done is to sort of take Jesus' sinless nature for our own by accept him and his his offer of grace.

Not saying I believe that stuff, but that is the reasoning behind it.

How can they believe this stuff? And how can they support Bush when he clearly is working against their best interests? Unless, of course, I'm uninformed and the drooling masses are also multimillionaires. These people put gas in their cars, need health care, need jobs, go bankrupt . . . what gives? Do they also believe Jesus is going to send them large piles of cash on a flaming pie from the sky?

Never underestimate the stupidity of people in large groups. Person is smart; people are ignorant.

You may be correct. But remember, these people vote. Their votes have had a significant impact on elections for the last 10 years.
Just a thought, maybe we should spend some time and mental effort on how to come to terms with them, rather than denigrating them. The consequences of not doing that may be another 10 years of election losses.

and i am one who has given up trying to come to terms with them.
