What's so great about about saving gas?
Don't get me wrong, my vehicle gets decent gas mileage and I don't drive around aimlessly... but what good does it do for me to conserve? If I don't use my share, it's not like it goes into some cosmic bank account so I'll still be able to drive when the rest of the world grinds to a halt. No---if I don't use it, some fundie bushbots burn it up in their hummer ferrying their spawn back and forth from soccer practice. Fuck them!

3. I know it feels hopeless...
but sometimes doing the right thing is the only reward. Save some cash, laugh at the morons, and say "I told you so" when the time comes.

the guy with the big SUV to continue to afford his monstrosity.

We need a gas tax in the worst way. Or CAFE standards that include passenger trucks, and that are much higher than they are now.

(I drive an 8 year old Mazda Protege, that gets 28 mpg in town, but I live 1.6 miles from work.)

5. Ask the MSM--they're touting that the higher prices are "good for us".
I thank the Lord each and every day that the MSM, big oil, and the Saudis CARE SO MUCH!!! It makes me feel all warm & safe!

6. 5 Quickies
It saves you money.

You produce less greenhouse gasses, less pollution.

You lower the external trade deficit.

You reduce the demand for oil which will help lower the price worldwide.

Your car will last you longer, with the side benefit of needing less oil, tranny fluid, coolant, repair expenses and other associated mileage related costs.

8. Thrift is a virtue. Put away the money you save for a rainy day.
There are rainy days ahead due to the greed and treason of Bush and the criminal corporate elite.
