Edited on Fri Apr-15-05 04:20 PM by G_j
(on the economic front) in a short time:

-new budget= cuts to programs that help the poor

-bankruptcy bill passes

-class action "fairness" bill passes

-bill to raise min wage defeated

-overtime under attack

-IRS going after the 'small guys' because the 'big guys' are too hard to get

-I'm sure I left out other outrages as well..

1. Yep...
It makes me want to walk away from the political process as a whole. I am disgusted with the Democrats who have betrayed us for their own corporate interests.

4. being a minority of the minority
is like living on another planet-- my representatives are voting well. Love you Feingold & Baldwin! Kohl....well, not so much. Are they just that out of touch with us -- the constituents? I think all elected representatives should never leave their district & be forced to live among the commoners who elected them. Let them conduct all business by phone & teleconference. Make the lobbyists travel.
peace.

6. They're trying to take away Civil Service protections and Fed union rights
The Bush Repubs want to end Federal employees' union representation and want to eliminate Civil Service protections that have shielded these workers from political favoritism and retaliation for whistle blowing. (The Repubs must believe they are going to remain in power for the foreseeable future)

One of the most shocking outrages is the massive reduction in assistance for low income housing and other vital anti-poverty programs in the new budget.
