24. My mistake
on putting it in the wrong forum. I'm still new here and I need to remember what forum I'm in.

BTW Thank you mod for moving it to general discussion.

soil, armed with cellphones, breaking the law. Which in King Georges America, would not surprise me.

I totally support what the Minutemen are doing and would like to see them come to Texas. Not only are they bringing to light the non stop invasion of illegal aliens in our country....even better,

THEY ARE MAKING DUBYA LOOK BAD.

works for me

4. It's a bit more complicated than that. Compare it to a group of people
saying that their city's crime is out of control. So, they arm themselves and take to the streets, with the goal to call the police when they see something illegal.

It might start out innocently, but whenever you get a bunch of armed men with testosterone flying attempting to catch criminals, you end up with a very bad situtation where people WILL get hurt.

There's already been allegations of these Minutemen illegally detaining Mexicans just because they're Mexican and the person thinks that they're illegal.

5. I agree
of course this isn't a permanent solution, but I'm glad someone is calling attention to the problem. Whether anything will be done is another story.

11. They aren't armed solely with cell phones
and if you looked at the leaders of the org, it is led by racists...furthermore, yesterday an unaffiliated person held 7 people at gunpoint...a copycat, but a copycat thanks to the Minutemen

23. hey i heard about that one i think?
when the Law finally showed up they arrested the lone bubba with a gun and charged him with aggravated assault, right?

it was on Stephanie Miller's show that i heard the details i think, but listen to Jones/AAR all day long so could have been another show.

25. Just because
they're led by racists doesn't mean there breaking the law. Yes they aren't just armed with cell phones. Some have concealed hand gun license so some are armed but still all legal.

32. Yes, bigotry that has no consequences or illegal actions is legal.
Most DUers, I think, would dislike the idea of thought crimes, and making speech that any individual finds offensive illegal. The old "think one thing, say another, and do a third" maxim for proper behavior is, I think, rather repugnant when compelled by mandated speech codes.

I may not like that the ACLU supports the Klan's freedom of speech, but I support the ACLU.

but with some of the talk around here, you'd think they were setting up sniper positions to take out illegals.

12. If they were illegal...
I can't see the point of charging the sergeant with anything. He was doing what our government refuses: attempting to enforce the law and secure our southern border.

Holding people who LOOK like drug dealers at gun point?

The seargeant falsely imprisoned people and held them at gunpoint.

How about if I pull a gun on you the next time I see you driving too fast since the government refuses to put enough cops on the street for every speeder?

26. even if they were illegal
what he did was still illegal. What he did was TRUE vigilantism weather the people he detained are illegals are not is beside the point. HE broke the law. Now if the people he detained are illegal then he goes to jail and they get deported as well every one is happy. (in a way)

13. No. Neither did the S.A. when they went after the Jews.
But, like their brownshirted inspirations the "minutemen" are a pack of rednecked bigots going after helpless people.

15. helpless people?
You mean, helpless people who are intentionally violating our laws? Helpless people who are sneaking over the border. Helpless people who refuse to make the effort to enter our country legally?

If a Cuban makes it all the way to our country, they get to stay.
