Just heard him blabbing how he is sending the "What do you want us to do? Shoot her?" 911 operator to disney world?

I heard audio of the call, no it did not seem like an emergency but where does a person get off with a response like that?

Yes, the dispatcher's response wasn't appropriate, but understandable - a misbehaving child is not something to call 911 over. I hope no life-or-death calls were delayed due to her bad judgement.

6. Yeah, let's give the guy a break

The appropriate response to the woman's call would be to fine her for a frivolous and irresponsible demand on emergency services. If her judgement is so impaired that she can't tell the difference, the general public should be reimbursed for her abuse of the system.

As for the dispatcher's reply, I have to admit to a fondness for sarcasm as a means of illuminating human folly. It was not a cruel remark in the face of tragedy or a dry bureacratic rebuke of breaking procedure, it was a very human way of getting this woman to evaluate her own action.

I'm with him -- what did she expect from 911?

7. i don't know mike gallagher, but i hope the guy has fun

i heard the tape yesterday and i wanted to shoot the woman who made the call, never mind her unruly daughters. i laughed out loud when he asked about shooting her.

the operator apologized repeatedly and was very cooperative with her after he realized his obvious blunder. the woman was a little uptight.

it was a funny remark, at a bad time. no big deal.
