Pro-life League hails Pope Benedict: "Champion of the Culture of Life"
Gee, where else have I heard that phrase recently?

====
CHICAGO, April 19 /Christian Wire Service/ -- The Pro-Life Action League is rejoicing over the election of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger as the new pope of the Catholic Church. "Joseph Ratzinger has always been a great champion of the Culture of Life," said League National Director Joe Scheidler. "As Pope Benedict XIV he is sure to carry on the work of Pope John Paul II in defending the value of life, especially those who are most vulnerable: the unborn, aged and disabled."

Scheidler noted that as Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Ratzinger strongly supported American bishops who had the courage to stand up to pro-abortion Catholic politicians. He has spoken and written on both the dignity and value of the unborn child and society's responsibility to care for women with crisis pregnancies and to "reawaken a new love for children."

1. Its sad, isn't it? The whole "pro-life" movement
is just one big sycophantic echo-chamber. They all know they are lying their asses off. They all know that no one in their organizations really gives a shit about the unborn.

Its just a way to promote themselves and to allow them to invoke moral superiority.

The way they arrogantly toss around throw-away phrases like "culture of life" only increases my disgust with these sleazy hypocrites.

2. "reawaken a new love for children."
Whoever is responsible for that phrase deserves a rifle butt to their mouth. Reawaken a new love for children - fuck them! What are they doing to help the millions of impoverished children throughout the world? Or here in America? Why do we need more children living under the specter of poverty and hunger?

:grr:

5. No, when they say re-awaken a new love for children
I think they mean it literally. The Catholic Church doesn't run rampant with pedophile for nothing.

4. Well, caring about the mothers is a big step up from Bush
As is the not executing the children or sending the children to kill Iraqis.

Church = 100% Pro-life, like it or not.
