Question: Regarding the Bolton selection committee

At one point during the meeting Lugar receives a piece of paper which apparently lets him know that the proceedings are being viewed by a very large audience.

Question is how is that information obtained? CSPAN has cable/satellite feeds, internet and radio....correct? So what is the mechanism for collecting viewership numbers?

BTW, Senator Allen (I believe)sneared, seeming smugly amused and alluded to the possibility that the Dems were using the opportunity to grandstand for the cameras.

Or faxes and emails? In real time, what other mechanism can they use?

Well, I know that I've seen reports about shows on the networks that say how many viewers watched a program, but never questioned how they knew that either.

Perhaps you're right and there was just a heavy response to the nomination committee joust.

I wouldn't put anything past these guys. Last Christmas, I sprayed "Peace" on our front window with that white fake snow stuff. And have left it there. And wonder what list that put me on. :)

3. Ha, the bug is in the cable box!

Just kidding, but I do watch what I say around it!

I've seen conferences on there before when it was announced half-way through that they were being seen on C-SPAN & some seemed surprised & others seemed perturbed, so maybe they don't always know, when they sit down, if it's being aired.
