Fox News host Bill O'Reilly renewed his attack on the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on the April 19 edition of The O'Reilly Factor. From his "Talking Points Memo" segment:

O'REILLY: "Talking Points" expects the American media to go after the new pope because he is conservative. And that will confirm his opinion that we're all a bunch of godless secularists over here. Remember, it is the American Civil Liberties Union which is now behind all abortion on demand, euthanasia, and coming soon perhaps, infanticide for impaired babies.

O'Reilly has previously referred to the ACLU as "terrorists," and has said the group is more of a threat to freedom than Al Qaeda. He has also claimed that "Hitler would be a card-carrying ACLU member. So would Stalin. Castro probably is. And so would Mao Zedong."

And speaking of infanticide of impaired infants... Who was it that pulled the plug on Sun Hudson against his mother's wishes? Uhhh... wasn't it the hospital, acting under a TX statute, signed by Governor Chimpinator, that allows hospitals to terminate life support in some cases if the patient's family can't pay for it? Hey, Bill-- so was it the ACLU that unplugged Sun Hudson? What's that? I can't heeeeeear you....

The real reason the right wing hates the ACLU and other civil liberties groups is because of their involvement in the courts. I think it's pretty clear that the religious right wants to eliminate or minimize the judicial branch of government so they can push their agenda forward without having to worry about the Constitution.

It was just a short but apparently a couple weeks after she settled with O'Lielly she bought an $800,000 condo in NY. I guess the Falafel king is paying off "extortionists" now. While I really can't blame her for taking the money I would have loved to have heard the tapes.
