A Rightwing blogger, who shall (and ought) to remain anonymous, has recently posted the following:
"The New York Times reports the number of 'wobbly on the filibuster' GOP senators at 7, including John Warner of Virginia, Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, Lincoln Chaffee of Rhode Island, Gordan Smith of Oregon, and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania. Others who have appeared on different lists of fence-sitting senators include John Sununu of New Hampshire and Mike DeWine of Ohio. ...John McCain's defection is already a matter of record....
"The failure to break the filibuster will result in ...fundraising for the National republican Senatorial Committee will crater, and the majority so recently and dearly won could well vanish in a matter of 18 months. (snip) "'For these senators, this vote is a classic Profile in Courage moment,' said Ralph Neas, the president of People for the American Way. 'This vote will be remembered 100 years from now.'
"Remembered as the high-water mark of Republican buffoonery, perhaps, but not of courage. Courage is with the defense of the Constitution, not defense of radical obstruction of mainstream judges deemed unacceptable to Patrick Leahy, Ted Kennedy, and Barbara Boxer. "You can call any of the senators listed above by contacting the Congressional switchboard at 202-225-3121."
There you go folks, since this is so important to our dear friends on the Right, don't you think we should answer this plea and call those senators ourselves?
