Chancellor U C Santa Cruz Lies about Student Arrests

This is too important not to be talking about. If this were the 60's Neil Young would be writing a song about it.

I just returned from the sister rally of the UC Santa Cruz Tent State University Camp In organized by Rutgers University students and faculty. The organizers were showing a video of the arrests (that video isn't the official arrest video and may provide more info. than what's contained in the above link. I'm searching a link to that video). Everyone should be appalled. The Chancellor called in the riot cops on a peaceful camp-in. Our camp in has been going off with no problems for three years now at Rutgers. The students were sitting in a field. They were attacked by police. There is no other way to describe it.

I do expect them to have the decency not to lie about hurting her own students. Period. I could give a rat's ass what you think happened the last 40 years.

you come to expect the wrong things from those people. Just look at all of the abuse college administrations are responsible for. They hate the students even though they wouldn't have a job without the students.

The UC and UCSC have been doing dirt for decades, dont let it shock you too much. In my opinion, and without seeing video, this was simply a hare-brained idea, picking a fight on their turf. As progressive as the area and most students are (dig me :P) the institution itself is one big dollar sign dedicated to itself, not the student body or the ideals of education. No fucking way.

Ive got twenty years on you, and Ive spent them busting my ass, so if I come across as arrogant, bfd.

Let's remember that administrators priority is not the students' well-being, but keeping the $$ rolling in.
