What does it mean that a Stock Share price on the London Stock...
Exchange is 133.50 (in British Pounds)? Does that mean, to buy 1 share it costs £133.50 per share? Does that include commission too?

Here's a chart for the stock I'm talking about:

2. Damn, that's what I though it meant. Thanks
How do you find out if a company tends to split it's stock? Past history?:evilfrown:

3. Motley Fool
forums are good for all this stuff. There's a UK version too if you want to ask about UK stock/SE.

4. That price is in pence, not pounds
Nearly all British stocks are quoted in pence (and I have specifically checked for that stock). Although the graph you linked to doesn't specify either way, if you see a prices given as 'GBX' that means pence; 'GBP' means pounds.

So it will be £1.33 per share. No, the price won't include commission, nor the 0.5% stamp duty you pay when purchasing shares. You'll need to talk to a dealer to find out commission rates (also be aware that London prices will have a 'buy' (or 'ask') and 'sell' (or 'bid') price - and the difference is not your dealer's commission either - it's where the market makers make their money. Currently that share is 128p bid, 131p ask - so you could buy it at 131p, or sell it at 128p).

5. Anyone in Europe who has been buying US stock has lost their ass.
Given the value of the dollar if they bought stocks 5 years ago they have actually lost 30% to them the DOW is still at 7000.
