Pat Buchanan Changing History 101 in Each State
Pat Buchanan's 1st Aide Kit to Heal US History 101: "Apply community action to existing statutes to cure the illness..."

What the... what illness? Has this been around and I'm just learning of this? Or is this something else brewing. This is a must read for Democrats and anyone that values what our country was founded on.

Over at Renew America, Pat Buchanan is demoralizing Democrats with regards to American history and, well... read for yourself. After seeing C-Span use the National Constitution Center Museum to their own Rethug delight in recent weeks, now it shows up on this site.

Caution: If you're anger level is at a all new high right now, don't read this if you're on your last nerve. As a History major, it's disgustingly disgraceful!

American history must remain a core component of every pupil’s education. Without understanding the sacrifices and the extraordinary acts of Americans throughout history, particularly during the Revolutionary War, young people are not properly equipped to maximize the blessing of liberty and to do great things with life.

Today, left-wing special interest groups wage war against the plain teaching of American history in our schools. Concerned citizens know this, readers of my column know this, and schools bullied by left-wing lawyers certainly know it by sitting on the front line of the battleground.

If you are fed up with left-wing lawyers and activists re-writing history in your child’s classroom, these statutes and others can serve as a foundation to voice your opinion within your community. State by state, community by community, school by school, we will fight to take America back. It is time to join in this battle.

And every state is mentioned w/Section numbers, nature and purpose, subjects like "flag codes," req'd courses of study from the Dept. of Education... it gets worse. Check your state. Grab Tums, a beer, whatever makes you feel better 'cause this is like nothing I've seen yet. If anyone out here knows how to forward this to our rep's, or someone that has any say in this, please do so or inform w/a link here.

1. Yeah screw those lefty lawyers..
we can't have our kids not "maximizing the blessing of liberty". By God noone should feel the least bit guilty about stealing all this land from the Native Americans, or for keeping slaves, or keeping women from voting, or, on and on and on... :sarcasm:

3. and now they're doing the same thing in Iraq.
It's a little tougher now than it was then it appears. Is this really the only way America can prosper? By theft of land and resources? Corporations, ya gotta love em' (not).

4. I've heard this rant before. Lynne Cheney does the same thing.
Her and her ilk wasnt to rewrite the textbooks, in order to purge them of supposed left-wing bias. This isn't at all new.

15. I've never understood that. People think because he's got problems
with Bush on the war that he's this liberal hero. Buchanan is right-wing down to his bones.

11. The thing is
for all they know they couldn't be "left-wing." They call them "left-wing" because we're their boogeyman. As long as they can claim "left-wing" at everything people will rally behind them. Why? Because they have the claim on Christianity and Christians are supposed to tell the truth about things. It's all a psychological thing. They know that. I had some rightwinger tell me Andrew Jackson was a republican! I wanted to just scream.

5. "But...Buchanan makes some very good points!"
So I hear the cry here on occasion. Every once in a while, when that BIGOT Buchanan starts criticizing Bush, there's more than a few here who start nodding their heads and saying "you know, he's got a point."
They should read the link above. They should link what he has to say about us. They should realize that Pat Buchanan is not and never has been on our side.
I don't give a damn if he rips into Bush once in a while. He's still a racist, and a dangerous man.

Thank you for posting this so people can see what Buchanan's all about, in his own words even.

7. Thank you. I posted it for that very reason.
For that "very" reason.

We have to stay more intelligent.
We have to stay 3 steps ahead.
We have no choice but to read, no matter how ugly.
We can't take our hands off the wheels any longer.

Pat Buchanan in his own words in the link above. Please, if any DU'ers see other's raving over him, point them to this link... I beg of you.

Each state... I can't emphasis this point: He's changing HISTORY 101 and condemning Democrats and Liberals for this, historically speaking in his own words!

9. MORE
From main site in his own words:

I quote below examples from a few of those statutes. In the upcoming weeks, please visit http://www.AmericanDestiny.com, which is a site that I advise, to read similar statutes from all over the country.

If you are fed up with left-wing lawyers and activists re-writing history in your child’s classroom, these statutes and others can serve as a foundation to voice your opinion within your community. State by state, community by community, school by school, we will fight to take America back. It is time to join in this battle.

12. I'm fed up with THEM
rewriting my country's history. Can I sue them and take back my country? I'd battle them till I die. As long as I'm around they're not going to get away with this bullshit.

10. I hate these people
I'm so filled with hate and anger with what they're doing. They're trying to rewrite history as THEIR version. Not the correct version. I just want to scream at these assholes who are destroying the history that makes our country. :banghead:

13. I worked with Buchanan and

(here's the scary part) he's a really nice guy. It was when he was doing a talk show for Westwood One out of Arlington, VA about 10 years ago. He smiled, he treated everyone with respect...

Of course, that doesn't mean a thing. I've read Joe McCarthy was a nice guy too. He liked to have drinks with those Kennedy boys 50 or so years ago when he wasn't calling people communists and traitors.

Buchanan will smile graciously as he tells you that the US is a Christian nation, homosexuality is evil, racism doesn't exist, labor unions are subversive, abortion is an abomination, the Iraq war is against Godless terrorists, and so on.

Buchanan is a very dangerous man.

18. That part about "He's a reallly nice guy." Well, they said the same
thing about "Jeffrey Dommer," if you think back. His neighbors, co-workers, family - even the courts/authorities said the same thing repeatedly: "He was such a nice guy!"

You know what I think. I think what makes folks like Buchanan EVIL are those that will not see; they listen like close-minded followers.

14. What an asshole right-wing whack-job.
He must be upset when he reads the holy right-wing revisionist doctrine of "manifest destiny" rightly explained in a history textbook as aggresion and empire building. Pat Buchanan is hard to figure out. I think he has brain-damage. That boy ain't right.

16. I taught American History for years in public school
in a Southern state, and I honestly don't know what he means by "...left-wing special interest groups wage war against the plain teaching of American history in our schools..."

Our textbooks concentrated on the Declaration of Independence, the Revolutionary War, the Constitution, the Native American tribes that were displaced, the Trail of Tears, the Abolitionist Movement, the Underground Railroad, The Civil War, the Civil Rights movement, etc., just to name a few (in case I've left something out).

I really do not understand what he's talking about.

19. Be thankful you don't understand. Sadly, others will.
Let's hope most colleges and universities remain liberal. Because if you've ever attended college, one thing all of us know is what's taught first: Critical Thinking.

Without "critical thinking awareness," one can not learn, nor be open-minded, creative in thought.

It's critical thinking that scares Repuks and folks like Buchanan. Can't have people thinking on their own or they'd loose mass followers.

17. Similar to what they are doing in Japan...
Whitewash history and indoctrinate people with a false sense of history complete with feelings of superiority and nationalistic jingoism.

It's disgusting but that's how nationalism works.

And that's what eventually leads to fascism.

20. Shades of 1984
...rewriting history to accomodate the world view of the ruling junta.

We're already seeing this, as the media failed to note small historical footnotes such as our previous support for Saddam, or how we armed the Bin Laden faction when they were fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan.
