How long will it take to fix the damage?
Assuming all goes well in 2008 - we take back the whitehouse and congress - about how long will it take for us to get back to where we were prior to the theft of florida? I'd be interested to hear any estimates. IMO I think it will be years to reverse all the damage.

2. With 10,000 newly minted terrorists courtesy of Schimpanski
and his clot of fuckwads, I'm thinking generations. There's the actual damage (thousands of fanatics who want to attack Americans and watch them die) and -- perhaps more damaging -- the lost opportunity.

Right after 9/11, a wise leader could have converted all of that sympathy for our loss into a true coalition of the willing that would have fought terrorism with a multipronged approach: militarily where it made sense to do so, but also on a police basis, a foreign aid basis, and a government reformation basis.

But we didn't have a wise leader, and that squandered opportunity will haunt us for decades.

Let's be optimistic and say things start turning around in a meaningful way in '06.

I expect that my 18 year old son might be able to start his family in a healthier environment in another 10-15 years.
