Tired of that stupid Red-Blue Map?
Edited on Sat Apr-23-05 03:34 PM by ck4829
I received an email shortly after election, talking about that Red-Blue Map from the Drudge Report. I'd like to know how they got hold of my email address, but that map is a lie.

It brings up 2 points.

1. We are not a minority.

2. There is a rebellion about to happen in the Bible Belt. See that blue band in the middle of the belt? I think Democratic victories could come from there and if we play our cards right, the 'christian' Right could fall.

1. Interesting map.
There is still waaaaay too much red.

My county, Multnomah, Ore. (Portland) is solid blue, at least.

11. Compare with the Census Bureau's population density map at
http://www.census.gov/geo/www/mapGallery/2kpopden.html

Looks like the Blue States have the most people in 'em !

3. the southern blue tracks follow the high concentrations of Blacks:
up and down the Mississippi, the Black Belt, Carter country in SW Georgia and Atlanta, and S.C.'s interior (where we have a Rep.); there's also the Tennessee Valley.
I do this as a hobby, actually, making proportinate-color maps.

4. If this map is correct
then that bothers me. As in most counties in southern Jersey (including mine), the color purple is predominant. I don't have any past election maps like this one to reference, but I thought that Jersey was almost always blue. With the great influx of PAers and NYers moving into this state, I wonder if they are all Repukes.

13. In some ways I like the usual red-blue map
In the state-wide map, I live in a blue state.

This map reminds me I live in a very red county.
