Is there no wealthy person on the Left that truly cares about America?
When Ross Perot first started he was not running for any office. He was extremely concerned with America's fiscal condition. He put together thirty minute paid ads with him talking about our debt and deficit and had charts and diagrams to go with it. It was only after a few months of this that people who had been listening started getting the idea that here was a man who truly cared and had a true desire to fix things. Those people sort of drafted Perot because he just made sense. No one else was doing so. In my mind I believe Clinton would never have won against Bush without Perot being in the mix. Perot was a Godsend but I am wondering why he is not emulated by some other wealthy person that gives a shit. I realize most wealthy people can't see past their nose so don't realize there is more to their being wealthy than just them. America has to be healthy for it's workers to really produce and when Americans are healthy the wealthy will do quite well indeed. Probably much better that they are currently doing. Most get their money from people or their efforts. If common people don't have money then the rich can't take it from them. We need someone who cares enough to spend their own money toaddress the people with facts and hope. Maybe cut through the propaganda that is running as news. Is there no one in America that cares? I was in hopes that MoveOn might fit the role but apparently they are just into politics and not the health and welfare of the nation....

2. I don't think the wealthy care much about countries
They are part of an international elite. Whatever happens to any particular country, they are sheltered from any hardship. After all, nation-states are only good for oppressing people and creating cheap labor.

Check that organization out.

Who they are:

We are leaders in business, community, government, philanthropy, academia and finance. We are among the wealthiest 5% of Americans, the primary beneficiaries of the robust growth of the American economy. We are united by our common concern that despite a booming economy, many are not sharing in the prosperity.
Founded in 1997, Responsible Wealth is affiliated with United for a Fair Economy (UFE), a national non-profit devoted to putting a spotlight on the dangers of excessive inequality of income and wealth in the United States.

Our work is focused on four areas:

We advocate fair taxes.
We support a living wage for all.
We call for greater corporate accountability.
We promote broadened asset ownership for all Americans.
We hope you'll join us in our work!

7. Yes and I'm not knocking him at all or MoveOn or any Liberal group
What I am not seeing is paid ads on TV every single night showing Americans just how deeply in Debt the US is and how it will effect every single citizen or Ads showing how the Government is using Propaganda techniques in it's approach to everything. I am not seeing all the ads educating Americans that Perot put on the air. He started putting his "Infomercials" on more than a year before elections and was not running for any office. He just wanted America to wake up before it was too late. America did. It elected Clinton and the deficits were erased and the debt was starting to get paid down. We need an education program similar to Perot's. What these people do is good (I guess) but without informing the people it won't matter how much "strategy" goes into getting the Senator from ???? elected. I am not talking about getting anyone elected. I am talking about some Charismatic person "talking" with America in a frank an honest fashion before it is too late.

9. Yes I see what you mean
There should be commercials and even infomotials. Late night tv, buy an hour or two and show all the charts etc. Sent that idea to the DNC when they were asking for ideas after the election and wish they would do it. And where is Perot anyway? With the deficit the way it is why is he no where to be found. Did they scare him with threats? I remember hearing that he was threatened and it was brushed off as some conspiracy theory.

8. I think it would be a good idea to show those types of commercials again.
I remember watching back as a teen and those clear cut descriptions and facts that Perot used helped jump start me into politics and wanting to learn more.
