1. While we're on bumper stickers, I saw this one on Saturday:
Abortion stops a beating heart - check the facts first.

Does anyone know what that means? I've thought long and hard about it and am afraid I'm going to have an aneurysm over it.

You should make that quote your sig line.

2. My guess is that they are trying to convey
that there are now facts to support that a zygote comes equipped with a heart now. Of course, you must get the "New Frist Testament" to find that out--it's right next to the best selling medical book "Gay's Anatomy".

5. Very nice. I'm looking for a few sarcastic people to collaborate
on a Post-9/11 version of the Bible.

We could have lots of fun with that.

4. Great idea, but only for moderates and liberals.
Many (though definitely not all) in the religious right think civil rights are absurd. I've actually met some who have called civil rights an abomination to their Lord.

These people believe that God blesses his chosen people, so if you're born into poverty or oppression or racial disadvantage... well... ya musta done something to deserve it.

Upon seeing your bumper sticker, these people would simply say "No, our country really IS based on our religion", and then mutter to themselves about how liberal the country has become.
