Kurtz gives Drudge a big birthday kiss
Of ALL the things to cover about the media TODAY and EVERY DAY, Drudge gets top billing from Kurtz in the blasted WASHINGTON POST.

Drudge at 10: Now He's Fun
On Sunday morning, April 17, Time magazine sent Matt Drudge an early copy of its controversial cover story on Ann Coulter, which he splashed on his gossipy Web site.

(Hand in hand with the big boys now)

The transaction was a far cry from the morning in 1998 when he used a spiked Newsweek story to tell the world about Monica Lewinsky, sparking a fierce debate over whether he was corrupting the news business.

(Ah, the good ol' days)

"For some reason the media elites aren't as hostile to me," Drudge says. "It makes the job easier. In some ways it makes it less controversial."

"easier" You have to go to the SECOND page to get the first whisper of analysis that isn't value neutral, a flimsy "Whatever his mistakes and excesses...".

What a joke :grr:

1. Drudge IS one of the media elites now
The days of Matt Drudge as some kind of a crusading populist outsider challenging people in power are long gone.

2. Speaking of Drudge...
Has he ever attempted to get a soft or hard pass from the White House?
