1. I've stopped listening to AAR since the announcement. I was truly
hurt by the announcement.

I'm sticking with Sirius and their current Sirius Left and whatever they choose to put on the 144 channel.

3. The Deal Came With High End Studios In D.C. Sirius Subscribers Need
to vent their anger, get a grip and ultimately deal with it.

By the way, if Sirius manages to stay afloat... and developes its own Liberal lineup... it can ONLY BE A GOOD THING TO HAVE COMPETITION.

6. They have one already....Sirius Left....
but another one would be nice...

I only listen to Al Franken now. I like Unfiltered, but now I hardly listen.

15. I started listening because of Al Franken but
soon really liked Unfiltered then they pulled the plug on Unfiltered for Jerry Springer... not a fan of his, so now I listen at work to only Al and the Randi Rhodes show.... I have been thinking of getting XM since in CT (Northern Hartford County) there is no AM station I have trouble getting it in my Car...

16. WTF? Sirius has some big shit planned. Just cuz MASSES were suckered
into XM doesn't make it the end all B all.

And IF XM manages to stay a float with its second rate programming. I'd be shocked.

4. I was all ready to get Sirius
and I probably will end up getting Sirius, since their selection of music programming is said to have more depth than XM. Fortunately, our local AirAmerica affiliate, "The Quake", is pretty strong and I can listen fairly often.

I *do* like that cute little XM receiver, though... wish Sirius had one!

5. Actually the XM Music play lists have FAR GREATER DEPTH..
.. than the Sirus one. You can sign up for a FREE 3-DAY trial of XM ONLINE and sample all the music channels at http://xmro.xmradio.com/xstream/index.jsp

No credit card, no commitment.

Music & Comedy ... and Opie & Anthony to boot...

check the above link for the free online listening trial..

here's the channel list http://xmro.xmradio.com/xstream/channel_lineup.jsp

XL after a channel name means UNCENSORED

10. mmm.... well.... probably won't change my decision
since one of my dear friends may get a show on Sirius...

but thanks for the info. He was going on about how Sirius had many more types of interesting music programming than XM. I'll now have to do a bit of analysis so I can see what he was talking about.

20. That's an excellent idea and that's exactly what I did when making
my sat radio choice. It seems like XM is really better for modern, top 40 music. But Sirius seems to be much better in the classic rock, heavy metal type playlist, which is what I prefer. Sirius has a free three day online sample as well. So the best thing to do is sign up and listen to both and just decide what you like better. For me it was Sirius, and AAR was a great bonus, but for others the choice might be XM. Really up to what you want and since the pricing and equipment is pretty much the same you can't really go wrong either way.

7. Check out the StarMate. It's really very nice compared to the lil XM
receivers. You can get one for 99 bucks from the website. I saw it at Circuit City for about 129. It was really nice and small. I'm thinking about upgrading my monster Sirius unit with this.

18. Not yet...It will be out later this year. No doubt they will have avoided
the kinks that XM has with their little wonder.

17. Sirius will have one towards the end of the year. Just remember
smart businesses learn from others mistakes.

So, when the Sirius portable comes out they will have learned from the issues over on XM.

XM raised their prices on their subscribers. People who chose to go CHEAP got suckered. Just like I did with AAR but it won't cost me dough.

Sirius has GREAT MUSIC.

Just cuz you're out in front doesn't mean your better or will survive.

13. I'm sure they don't care
but I have already purchased all the sirius equiptment last December for the sole purpose of listening to AAR. I love Stephanie Miller though and last time I checked she was on Sirius left so I guess it's bye bye AAR for me

I understand their position as I am sure they understand mine. I can't afford another system to get their programming, period.

I have had questions about this switch since way before the announcements and I have contacted AAR on several occasions and I didn't get ONE response.

22. Late news (unconfirmed by me as of yet) XM added Malloy to the sched ....
... last night.

It's been reported that the tape delay of Malloy after Colmes started last night (a week earlier that originally repoted).

I'll tune in tonight and verify, if true, then the 'leaks' of the plans are coming together.
