Is Bush afraid of horses???
I heard this on the Stephanie Miller show this morning. Can anyone confirm?

I know it's not the biggest deal in the world, but you have to get a kick out of a guy who has carefully honed his image as a cowboy being afraid of horses. And if that's the case, what is the ranch for -- other than politics -- to clear a neverending pile of brush?

What a joke!

5. Two presidential candidates
Both went to preppy schools, both went to ivy league schools, both raised by new england families. One pretends to be a cowboy, the other acts like a New England son of well-off parents. Can you spot the phoney?

10. He went to visit Presidente Fox down in Mexico....
Fox raises horses & asked Bush to go for a ride. Bush refused. Don't know whether fear was the major reason.

11. Bush only likes animals he can drop on the tarmac
eat on a bun or have made into a hat. That's his idea of being connected to the natural world. Most animals intimidate him due to their obvious higher intelligence. Very frightening to the boy.

He bought that ranch in 98 or 99 as part of his neo Reagan schtick. Pathetic. Here's a GREAT article on it. http://archive.democrats.com/view.cfm?id=6687

15. If he wasn't, wouldn't we see pictures of him on horseback ALL the time?
Like Reagan?

I mean, even Reagan was more appealing on horseback.

It would do his image a lot of could if he was seen riding -- so I must assume that he can't. Seeing as we know he owns them. I'm a shitty horseback rider, but if I owned horses, and I was president, I'd certainly take them out once in a while.

Unless they terrified me!!

21. Precisely. If he could ride, he'd be superglued to horses.
But with not one photo of himself mounted on a horse, it's pretty evident that he won't get near them!

I'm not sure about the fix being in with BBV.

re 9/11, I have serious doubts that the BFEE LIHOP.

Chimpy might have actually believed there were WMD in Iraq.

But horsies? yeah. I'm sure they scare Chimpy shitless. No other explanation for not having figured out how to ride, by now.

18. I don't ride but my neighbor's horses come
over and keep me company when I am in my garden. They lean over the fence for the succulant grass weeds I give them when I am weeding, not to mention the occasional carrots I pull out and give them, when they are mature. Now they could easily breech the fence if they wanted to but they don't.

They like their nuzzles petted and give you an occasional horsey kiss. Understand that you have to be close to a really big animal who could kill you with one kick if spooked. Yet, they have been close to me when spooked by something and they just run away.

I have never seen pictures of Bush getting close up and personal with horses, which you'd think he would do for his cowboy image, even if he didn't ride them. I'm sure he's afraid of them and it's possible he has had a bad experience with horses before because horses know a jerk when they see one.

19. Well, if you fell off a bike as much as he has,
you'd be askeered too. After all, a horse is a whole lot taller than a Schwinn.

24. Horses require respect, and bush is incapable of respect
Edited on Tue Apr-26-05 01:56 PM by 0rganism
What you've got with a horse is a very sensitive animal much larger than a grown man with sharp clubs at the end of its relatively long legs. If you can't respect that fact when you're around them, then you should damn well fear them if you have even an ounce of common sense. If a horse does not like you -- and horses can be very intuitive about the people around them -- then you would be wise to stay the fuck away from it.

I'm not convinced bush has an ounce of common sense, but he may well experience some vague instinctive discomfort when in their vicinity.

28. The evidence points to yes -
There's never been a photo of him riding one (and you know how manly that would make him look) and he doesn't have any at his ranch.

He's supposed to be a cowboy, but no horse.
