1. So Murphy must be a Republican
since his party affiliation was not mentioned int eh article cited, at least so far as I could find.

2. Yes he is.
Time magazine was correct in the assesment that Murphy is one of the three worst mayors in the US. The guy is a stuffed shirt who kisses the ases of developers and defense contractors. Since he came in the financial state of San Diego has been a laughable disaster.
Donna Frye would take this city into the 21st century. She's intellegent, active, and environmentalist, a true progressive.

3. Had he been a Democrat
his party affiliation would have been mentioned in each and every paragraph of the article and there would be non-stop incessant national coverage from the media.

5. Indeed. The San Diego Union Tribune is a "Copley" paper.
Helen Copley was a good friend of Reagan during the day.
This story will get very little exposure, and it should. A contested, controversial election, Murphy calling out his lawyers to basically steal it from democrat Donna Frye, he gets a horrible rating from "Time", realizes that he cant fix the problems he promoised he could, and quits!
Typical cowardly repug!
