He has two bases -- corporate greedheads and religious wackos. The greedheads are the ones that care about fiscal conservatism. But corporate profits are up 14.5%, the highest rate since the end of WWII. So what the hell do they care about massive government debt? They're making boatloads of filthy lucre.

The term fiscal conservative has been misappropriated by the radical right. All a fiscal conservative really is, is someone who requires the receipts to balance with outlays. There is no connection to lowered taxes or reduced capital gain taxation. That is a complete misnomer.

The people who support this buffoon don't care a whit about the federal budget. They either care solely for their OWN budget, or some abstract and indefensible perversion of "morality" that think Li'l Georgie represents.

They either support him because they're completely misguided, or because they're completely selfish. Fiscal conservatism has nothing to do with it.

We'll "grow" our way out of them! Besides, they're only deficits on paper...it's not like they relate to real money or anything. It's kind of like the Social Security Trust Fund. People try to tell you that it exists, but everyone knows that it really doesn't exist. And those US Treasury Bonds that are in the non-existent Social Security Trust Fund.....those are just meaningless pieces of paper, not real money or anything. :crazy:
