Army Officer Acquitted of Raping Soldier in Her Barracks Room

FORT RUCKER, Ala. (AP) - An Army officer was acquitted by a military judge Wednesday of raping a soldier in her barracks room, a claim the defense said she concocted to keep from being sent to Iraq.


First Lt. Mike Hall, 35, of Nashville, Tenn., was also acquitted on an adultery charge but convicted of having sex without informing his partner that he had genital herpes.

Hall had testified in his court-martial that a night of dancing, flirting and kissing with 1st Lt. Jennifer Dyer, 26, last August led to consensual sex, not rape as she alleged.

He said Dyer invited him into her room at Camp Shelby in Mississippi and that, during two short episodes of intercourse, he stopped both times when she said "No."

Seriously though...rapists are the slime of humanity, and I approve of castrating them.

That might sound harsh to a lot of people, but it's ridiculous to have serial rapists on the street victimizing people.

Some men seem to think that anything other than angry resistance means "yes". They also seem to have no problem in lying, coercion, and asking multiple times often as the woman gets drunker or higher in order to have sex. Some of these cases are judged not be rape, but I they aren't really consenual either, are they? Why is it cool in some circles of men to trick a woman into sex or come as close as possible to raping a woman without not technically raping her? With this mentality, we should not be suprised when some men cross the line and really think that they didn't do anything wrong. When in doubt, stop. If she really wants to have sex with you, you can have sex tomarrow, right?
