Discussion with a Republican. List of potential future Investigations.
The discussion centered on what is really bothering Democrats and what they would want to investigate if they ever returned to the Whitehouse. Of course he denies any of this is a concern. Here is my list in no particular order.

WHAT AM I FORGETTING?

1. Collusion of Bush administration with energy providers, possible price fixing. (Relationship of Bush administration with Enron)
2. All of the 9/11 inconsistencies.
3. War crimes violation in Iraq and Afghanistan of Geneva convention allowed by the Bush administration.
4. Neo-Cons in Pentagon giving classified information to foreign governments.
5. Why Osama was not captured?
6. Halliburton pricing and accounting fraud in Iraq.
7. Intelligence inconsistencies (down right lies) about WMD, along with this false pretext for going to war in Iraq.
8. Bush administration control of news media.
9. Attempts to wreck Social Security with a government controlled investment program.
10. Last and not least election fraud in 2000 and 2004.

I know I will never convince this person of anything, but I want to be accurate in these types of discussions. What have I forgotten?

1. Collusion of Bush administration and religious organizations
including minority religious organizations. What did the * admin promise these folks if they asked their congregations to vote for *? How did this play into the whole faith-based initiatives push?

5. Good observation. Would it ever make for an Investigation?

6. If the * admin promised them funds from faith-based legislation
to support him in the election, then yes it would make for an investigation. "If you vote for *, then we will make sure to kick some funding your way for your 'faith-based' programs here at your church. Don't have any faith-based programs yet? No problem. We trust that you might have them one day. The check will be in the mail."

10. Oh, I'm sure if we took a closer look, there'd be something very
similar to what I described. The money that * is willing to send to churches for their faith-based programs is staggering. I'm sure that some churches would salivate at the opportunity to get that money. All * has to do is dangle the carrot.

2. The best archive is located at

...the house reform committee (minority) website.

On edit, just about any of the house and senate (minority) websites. Just go to the "regular" site and click on "minority".

3. The Plame affair...
who in the White House was responsible for leaking her name to Nofacts?

Jeff Gannon/ Guckert. His relationship with the White House, or relationships with White House Staff?

7. Because these issues may be investigated if they lose power
Edited on Thu Apr-28-05 11:53 AM by drm604
they will be absolutely desperate to maintain power in both '06, '08, and beyond. It's gone beyond just wanting to have power and institute their agenda. At this point it's about CYA. They have nothing to lose, so in order to maintain power they will do nearly anything up to (and maybe beyond) the level of any crimes they've already committed. How do we fight this?

9. That's my concern also.
There is so much I wonder at some point if there needs to reconciliation similar to South Africa when they abandoned Apartheid.

That is if we are allowed to count our votes and come back.
