If Sibel Edmonds isn't in the Top 100 - the list isn't even worth peeing on.

4. Bret Farve?
Okay, I love the Packers but in the history of this great country, I don't think Bret ranks up there with Frederick Douglas, or Franklin Roosevelt or Teddy Roosevelt......

this whole exercise is a sham.....

8. Bret Farve is a better choice than Rush Limbaugh and Shrub but I agree
that their is NO WAY he is one of the 100 Greatest Americans. My Grandfather who was a POW in WWI is a greater American than Farve for Christ sake.

Prince Neil Bush -- I Am Not A Crook
December 02, 2004
By: Evelyn Pringle

http://www.independent-media.tv/item.cfm?fmedia_id=9982&fcategory_desc=The%20Bush%20Crime%20Family

Once upon a time, Prince Neil Bush took up with Asian Hookers, caught a venereal disease, stole the wife of a business associate, and sent an email to his wife of 23 years saying he wanted a divorce.

I will never understand why the Prince sought a divorce; being married certainly never cramped his style. Neil filed the suit on Aug 26 2002 and cited 'discord or conflict of personalities' as the reason for the divorce. I wonder if that means that Sharon got crabby and unreasonable when she found out about the hookers and VD?

During the divorce proceedings, many of Neil’s past business dealings came under intense public scrutiny after he was forced to testify in a deposition on March 3, 2003. For instance, he testified that on July 19, 1999, he made over $171,000 in a single day, by buying and selling shares of stock in Kopin Corp, a small Massachusetts company where he had previously been a consultant.

According to the Prince, his good fortune began while he was a consultant for Telecom Holdings, which is part of the Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group), and the firm wanted him to find US companies to invest in. "We searched for a viable fit and found Kopin Corporation," Neil claimed. In a more detailed explanation, he said, "We made introduction of the Asian group to Kopin and they ended up investing a significant amount of money in Kopin," Neil said. "I believe it was in excess of $20 million. They're in Hong Kong and Thailand." Well, actually the deal that Neil arranged was for a tad more than $20 million, it was for $27 million. But then what’s $7 million here or there to a Prince.

Edited on Thu Apr-28-05 11:30 AM by Gonnabuymeagun
I mean what has she done, she's a former school teacher, she married into a powerful family and went along for the ride, and she's even in consideration how ridiculous.

On edit: they have Favre, but no Elway. that's bull.

11. any such list that doesn't include Louis Armstrong . . .
Woody Guthrie, Duke Ellington or Ella Fitzgerald is laughable . . .

guess they had to make room for Michael Jackson, Mel Gibson, Rudy Guiliani and Pat Tillman . . . (nothing against Tillman, mind you, but one of the 100 greatest Americans?) . . .

15. It's a mouth-breather's list of "great" Americans.
A popularity contest, pure and simple, with some sort of "balance" of different races and professions, but without any true sense of history. Louis Armstrong ought to be in the top 5, and the top ONE in the field of arts or entertainment, and he isn't even on the list. What a crock.

21. Wow, this list his heavy on celebrities and recent figures
Even someone I admire, Obama doesn't really belong on a list like this. He's only been on the national stage for a few months.

It's funny, I think you are the third country to claim Alexander Graham Bell.

You don't think those who are voting are serious about their lame votes? I am sure those who voted for George Bush love the guy. Sad but true.

29. This list is a joke.
Martha Stewart? Pat Tillman? Barack Obama? John Edwards? Bill and Hillary? Both Bush presidents and their wives? Tom Cruise? Ellen DeGeneres? Rudolph Giuliani? Tom Hanks? Michael Jackson? MEL GIBSON??? Dr. fucking Phil? Rush Limbaugh? CONDI??? Arnold Schwarzenegger? Sam Walton? Oprah? Come on. NONE of these people belong on a list of "greatest Americans".

Missing from the list: Walt Whitman, Henry David Thoreau, William Faulkner, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, John Adams, James and Dolley Madison, Clarence Darrow, Joe Louis, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and the list goes on...

The only conclusion one can draw from this is that the people who did the voting are historically ignorant morons.
