WH Correspondents Dinner: Bush hand-holding photo ridiculed
Comics hit gusher: George of Arabia

President Bush can forget about getting any mercy from Washington wags at Saturday's White House Correspondents Dinner - not after the setup he gave every comic and Democrat by strolling hand in hand on Monday with Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah. . .

:

Bill Maher: "Bush is with the Saudis like Michael Jackson is with 12-year-olds. He just doesn't care how it looks....He's just like, 'It's charming. We're just having milk and cookies!'"

Andy Borowitz: "After the picture came out, President Bush reiterated his opposition to gay marriage - unless one of the partners has several billion barrels of petroleum."

Sen. Chuck Schumer, who has long challenged the Bush administration coddling of the Saudi dictatorship, told us that while Abdullah is holding the President's left hand, the prince's other hand is picking the pockets of Americans with "sky-high gasoline prices."

You're kidding! So, we're laughing here about the hand holding and
they're rolling on the floor over there about it! Where's the picture? Is it really the left hand he was holding?

7. Lol! Jay Leno....
Jay Leno, who has emceed the dinner in the past, jumped on the tender scene at Bush's Texas ranch by offering "Tonight" viewers a spoof on those Las Vegas tourism commercials showing how Sin City reawakens a couple's romance. The punchline: "What happens in Crawford stays in Crawford

12. The Promenade of the Media Whores
Where is a wickedly delicious composer when we need one. The pointy shoes to match the pointy heads. And capped at the end, should be their royal highnesses Lordlings Shrub and Abdullah holding hands.

That said, why NOT Guckert? Why were Paula JONES and (Monica? Wasn't she there?) and the acid fool IMUS to blister CLINTON? GUCKERT *should* have been a clown guest.

13. Why Was Ron SILVER Introduced as "traditional Lib causes"?
They are running Jeff GREENFIELD interviewing Ron SILVER, and the C-SPAN announcer introduced it as "Ron SILVER, who has crusaded for traditionally LIBERAL causes..." WTF???

16. SILVER Sez He's a GIULIANI Dittohead
That this is the politician who most closely reflects his views---that he did "an incredible job of turning NY around," that he is a Catholic struggling with pro-choice and is pro-choice, that when he moved out of Gracie Mansion he moved in with a Gay couple. So there.

He sez he was for GORE in 2000 because the Dems then had a positive security agenda, that the Repukes were against nation building then, that 9-11 changed things around (for him).

He sez that he would have been in favor of the illegal Iraq attack---WITH OR WITHOUT wmd as a "reason". So there.

17. Oh, & He Sez Iraq Was NOT about Oil
Because, if it were, we would be paying $26 per barrel instead of $50+. Well, arighty then.

Now he's castigating CLINTON as "cynical" for the Kyoto treaty. Now defending the Patriot Act.

18. Oh My Zeus! They're Acting Like "Stars" at a Premiere
Looked like Matt PUDGE walked in with a date (male). Who are the other media outlets who are "interviewing" (as on the Red Carpet) the REAL STARS. Andrea MITCHELL just posed for pics. And there is an actual rope line for the unwashed with cameras and autograph books. Greta VAN SUSTERAN just posed. BLITZER is being interviewed. There are actual squeals from teeny bopper groupies!
