HEADS UP re: Andy's surgery

My crew at PDA wants to help out by getting an essay about Andy's situation out in front of a lot of people who can give money to his fund drive. In order to motivate the giving, they want me to write about his situation and dovetail it into examples of why we need universal health care, and also describe his work on election reform.

We want to turn this around quickly, so if you can, I need:

* The exact details on when he is going in for surgery;

* The amount needed to make the down-payment, and the amount this will cost in total;

* Whatever details you can provide about the procedure itself.

The turnaround time on this is immediate, so whatever you can do ASAP will be greatly appreciated.
