Laura's Speech- I feel deeply Sick

Our Local News Station here In NewZealand, just showed Laura's Speech. I have never felt so sick in my life. It wasnt because of the pathetic jokes she told, it was the media who attended.

They dont deserve to be called media, they were a bunch of useless seals, who clapped and cheered, at everything Laura said. They then gave her a standing ovation, it was so over the top, it was like the media was trying to say "WE LOVE YOU MRS PRESIDENT"

IT WAS A FREAKIN LOVE FEST, EVERY ONE OF THOSE JOURNLISTS, ARE JUST A BUNCH OF FREAKIN PUPPETS.

I still cant understand the over reaction of the press thier, it was like they wanted to be seen cheering and clapping and laughing.

I know these things are suppose to be light, but this was crazy.

My question is, was it the White House Press Core who were in attendance?

Was any network Journo there?

Does anyone have the email addresses of the so called Journlists in attendance?

I'm guessing Jeff Gannon wasn't. Maybe Talon news sent his replacement

i applaud you for your imagery! from now on, every time i see the media clapping to a bush, the image of trained seals going "orr, orr, orr" while waiting for a frozen herring will pop into my head.

From the first time when CHEENEE put the fear of Hades into Darrell HAMMOND, the Shrubbites have NEVER had a sharp-edged performer. Last night, Cedric the "Entertainer" was a joke, but not in a good way. He said he was there to "give (Shrub) street credibility," and he said it was NOT TRUE that Blacks are not "down with (Shrub)," that they LOVE him.

Then they put "roast" material in the mouth of Pickles. I would have loved the lines if MAHER or FERREL were spouting them. But it was the familiar ROVE strategy of "innoculation"---put the most damaging stuff in the hands of somebody who will negate it, which she proceeded to do in her "disclaimer" section at the end.

I wondered why Pickles was featured in this month's Ladies Home Journal, then appeared on Leno. Now she's the star of the show at the press corpse dinner. Which generates more fawning "coverage" by the bought and paid for whores.

I wonder no more. They are creating the illusion (which will hopefully become reality, that Everybody loves Laura. You love Laura. Follow Laura. Laura is your mommie. Your government will take care of you.

All of this is carefully managed. But I sense that it's getting harder for them to sell the pig, even after applying lipstick and a really good hair dye job.

and I might have found them funny if not for the context of this presidency. These "roasts" are supposed to be "light' and "funny" but it is impossible for the script in any Washington function with this degree of coverage not to be the product of political calculation.

The First Lady's performance and the jokes themselves were not particularly objectionable. What was objectionable was the acceptance and normalcy accorded to a presidency guilty of the crimes of which we are all too aware.

It's as absurd as "Springtime For Hitler" -- except this isn't farcical fiction. To see anything associated with Bush receive this kind of good-natured acceptance and praise is enough for the contents of one's stomach to head for the nearest exit:
